Linear Technology’s Grass Valley design center is designing both pure analog and mixed signal integrated circuits. We have immediate openings for the following positions and we welcome inquiries from all qualified candidates:
A qualified candidate for the Analog Design Engineer position a will be able to demonstrate a solid analog background in schooling and previous work. The candidate must be experienced with transistor level design, have a solid grasp of transistor operation, be able to calculate gain, and be able to determine input and output impedances for simple transistor configurations. Candidates must understand the operation of inductive and capacitive elements and be able to sketch step responses for various filter configurations. In general, the Integrated Circuits this candidate will be designing at the Grass Valley Design Center are analog intensive and have very little digital content.
A qualified candidate for the Mixed-Signal Design Engineer position will combine their analog transistor level design skills with digital filter, interface, and timing type circuits to produce high precision delta sigma analog-to-digital converters. A qualified candidate understands switched capacitor circuits, matching, and charge injection. The candidate is capable of combining complex analog/digital circuits, will over-see the layout of these circuits, and will debug prototype silicon in order to produce the final product.
A qualified candidate for the Associate Engineer position will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge: High-Level coding skills (C, labwindows, etc), knowledge of basic analog blocks (including op-amps, single-pole filters, passive circuit elements, and active circuit elements in simple gain configurations), digital blocks and logic elements (simple counters, must understand Boolean logic), knowledge of lab tools and ability to design, layout, assemble, and troubleshoot printed circuit boards.
